Marvel Snap’s Doomsday: Unleashed listings hint at five pairings, from Sue Storm and Namor to Reed Richards and Beast.

Marvel Snap Card Listings Point to Five Avengers: Doomsday Team-Ups

Five pairings in newly spotted Marvel Snap card listings offer a fresh way to read the sprawling cast of Avengers: Doomsday. The combinations bring together heroes with shared comic-book history, characters already teased in confrontations, and newcomers from different corners of Marvel’s screen universe. They suggest possible connections, but they don’t confirm how those relationships will unfold in the film.

The listings, spotted via snapcomplete.com’s Marvel Snap card page, name Sue Storm and Namor, M’Baku and the Thing, Gambit and Shang-Chi, Reed Richards and Beast, and Sam Wilson and Nightcrawler. The set fits the game’s upcoming tie-in season, “Doomsday: Unleashed,” which runs from December 1 to January 4. Doctor Doom is the Season Pass card; Gambit and Shang-Chi are listed as the Super Premium card.

Familiar tensions, new combinations

Sue and Namor are the most loaded pairing. In the comics, Namor’s infatuation with Sue goes back to 1962 and has long complicated his connection with Reed Richards. That history gives the card listing extra resonance, though it doesn’t establish what the film will do with the characters’ relationship.

Tenoch Huerta Mejía plays Namor, opposite Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm. Huerta has suggested that Sue plays a strong part in the events involving Namor and his world. He has also jokingly sidestepped a question about the dynamic by saying he really likes Pedro Pascal, who plays Reed. A report from a scooper claimed Sue and Namor share many scenes in the desert shown in the fourth teaser; Marvel hasn’t confirmed those plot details.

The trailers have already put some of these characters on opposing sides. CinemaCon footage showed Shang-Chi trading blows with Gambit, while the fourth teaser paired Sue against Namor and showed the Thing meeting Shuri and M’Baku in a desert setting. Those clashes could reflect confusion between heroes before Doctor Doom becomes their shared threat, but that remains an interpretation of the footage rather than a confirmed account of the story.

Gambit and Shang-Chi have made a particularly vivid first impression. Channing Tatum plays Gambit and Simu Liu plays Shang-Chi. Their fight at the X-Mansion drew a strong fan response after CinemaCon, and CBR has pointed to the characters’ similar fighting styles and charm as ingredients for an appealing alliance. The card listing offers a reason to imagine that the clash could eventually give way to cooperation.

Crossovers with comic-book roots

M’Baku and the Thing connect characters whose screen worlds have largely developed apart. Winston Duke plays M’Baku, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays the Thing. Their meeting with Shuri in the teaser points toward a broader connection between the Fantastic Four and Wakanda. MovieWeb has also highlighted the comic-book echo: Black Panther first appeared in the pages of Fantastic Four.

The other listings suggest pairings built around different kinds of contrast. Reed Richards and Beast bring together two of Marvel’s best-known scientific minds. Pedro Pascal plays Reed; Kelsey Grammer returns as Beast, reprising his role from Fox’s X-Men films. What the two might contribute to the same effort is an intriguing question, but the cards don’t reveal whether their connection is strategic, personal, or both.

Sam Wilson and Nightcrawler offer a less familiar combination. Anthony Mackie leads as Sam Wilson, while Alan Cumming returns as Nightcrawler, also reprising his Fox-era role. Their listing suggests the new Captain America’s circle may reach beyond the allies audiences already associate with him. That could be a notable shift in a film bringing together characters from three distinct universes.

The cast includes the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and more, with Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. More than 20 characters are expected to share the film, so each connection will have to fit within a crowded story. Huerta has acknowledged that roles are more condensed, while also making clear that Namor remains part of the story. The listings may offer a useful hint at how the film distributes attention across its many characters, even if they can’t show how much time any one pairing gets.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026. Until then, the clearest takeaway from the cards and teaser footage is that familiar alliances may start with a fight, and that even the most unexpected pairings have roots in Marvel’s wider character history.
